Spicy Bread Crisp

Demanding days demand a quick post and a quick recipe that gives you a quick fix to perk up a boring day and a spicy treat to jazz you up. These bread crisps do just that. They are real quick to put together with ingredients that are all easily available at home. You can serve them on their own as finger foods or along with ketchup or a cheesy dip.

Have a few or just dig in!

Bread Crisps

Ingredients:

Bread slices – 2-3

Butter (melted) – 1 tbsp

Spices (as reqd) – I used red chilli powder and salt, you could use herbs too

Tomato Ketchup – 2 tsp

Lemon juice – a few drops

Note: Another interesting flavour could be finely grated cheese (esp parmesan) and dried herbs

Method:

Preheat oven to 180deg C

Cut bread into whatever shapes you want. I cut them into triangles and long fingers. You could use cookie cutters to make more interesting shapes

Apply melted butter on all the slices

Sprinkle a little amount of red chilli powder and salt on some slices

Apply a tiny quantity of lemon juice on some pieces

Spread tomato sauce on the others

Waiting to go into the oven…

Keep all the bread pieces on a baking tray and bake for 8 mins or longer till the bread becomes crisp. Take care not to brown them

Serve them as starters topped with finely chopped veggies or as spicy treats to go with your evening tea coffee or even as breakfast and enjoy this guilt-free snacking!

All baked and ready for u!
